Our shea

From Ghanaian roots
to global ingredients.

Our commercial vision starts with supplying shea ingredients to organisations that turn them into products used around the world.

Why shea matters

A remarkable tree.
A valuable livelihood.

Shea links rural livelihoods in northern Ghana to international food and personal care supply chains.

The shea tree produces fruit containing a nut. Its kernels can be processed into shea butter, an ingredient valued by manufacturers for a range of applications.

For many rural households, harvesting and processing shea is an important source of income. Women play a central role in that work. Growing local processing capacity offers a route to more skills, stronger employment and greater participation in the value chain.

Azumacole’s approach is to develop that opportunity carefully, with responsible cultivation and the future needs of ingredient buyers in view.
